Farmers’ markets a racially biased cause of ‘environmental gentrification,’ professors say
Its been a long time since I have laughed this hard. It seems two professors out of San Diego are criticizing farmers’ markets for causing “environmental gentrification” in which “habits of white people are normalized.
Environmental gentrification is defined as a process where “environmental improvements lead to … the displacement of long-term residents,” according to the anthology.
Where is Jeff Foxworthy when you need him – “Here is your Sign.”
Joassart-Marcelli and Bosco received funding from the National Science Foundation to research “the role of food in structuring everyday life in immigrant and low-income urban neighborhoods.” My only question is where I can get free money to do some stupid meaningless study.
A Farmers Market is a place to buy fresh produce. I have not been to one in a long time and I am white! I guess the next time I go I will get a pen and notepad to write down what races enter and leave the market. In the mean time the article says its going to raise my property values. I wonder if I can get one here in Pollock Pines, CA?
This is the biggest bunch of hogwash I have ever seen – it is so stupid I just bust out laughing reading it. These Professors from Southern California need to have their teaching credentials revoked as well as their degrees. Something is obviously missing in their education. I certainly would not want them teaching anyone!
Read the article (I placed the source link above) and have a good laugh.
