Trump is Weak on the Border Wall

Border Fence

President Trump is very weak on the border wall.   I remember a week ago that the President said that he would favor a shut-down in the government if his 5 million dollars was not part of the budget.   He made this comment directly to Chuck  Schumer in front of Nancy Pelosi and the media.

Government Officials fail to do their job –  Here is the oath they took to hold office — I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

What I expect from the President is to follow through with the promises he made to be come elected.   I am not naive however because no President seems to keep their promises.

Trump tells a lot of lies too, which I have grown very tired of.  The President is supposed to be someone who carries the torch of America and at the same time bring decency and respect to the office.   In the area of decency and respect Trump gets an “F.”

I never believed President Trump would get Mexico to pay for our border wall.  This was something that was ridiculous to say when he was campaigning however many people swallowed that. What I did expect is him to secure funding for the wall with a majority power in the House and Senate.  Trump gets another “F” here.

President Trump has followed through with some of his promises;  Getting Conservative Judges on the Supreme Court bench and jump starting our economy was a good thing.  The Iran deal was bad.   Killing it was the right thing, and the climate accord was bad for our country.  We are leading the world without being part of the Paris Accord.    The whole tax thing is up in the air until I do my taxes.  I suspect being middle class I got the shaft but I will soon see.  Employment has got better and so has the GDP, however the stock market this year has cost me thousands due to the swings.

So why does Trump have no cojones when it comes to protecting our border.  He has had two years to get the money for the wall and failed getting this done last year as well.  Now the House will be controlled by the Democrats and it will never get funded.  I see Trump as weak in this area and because of his inability to get this job done, a promise he made to all of us I am sure that he will fail his re-election bid.

Many of us voted in Trump because he was the lesser of two evils, meaning Hillary Clinton was worse.  We voted him in to support the Constitution.   We voted him in to secure our borders.   We voted him in to protect our second amendment rights.

We didn’t vote Trump in to be weak and spineless.  He was supposed to drain the swamp.  He hasn’t done that; instead he has filled it with angry Liberals.

In 2019 I will have to budget money to purchase more arms; rifles, handguns and ammunition so I can protect myself with the onslaught of illegals that will be entering our country.   I live in California and the liberal tax and spend attitude plus the weak laws on criminals and illegals will probably cause me to pack up and leave in a couple of years.  Living near the border near Canada seems much more appealing than living in California — after all the onslaught of illegals are already here in Sacramento.  I am not saying immigration is bad, I am saying illegal immigration is bad.  When we spend 70K for each illegal that gets into the country in food, housing and medical aid you can see how our budget is strained and that amount is not sustainable in any way.   This means higher taxes.  It is time for Trump to “grow a pair” because if he doesn’t secure our borders he will not be re-elected in 2020.

Trump takes too much heat – walks back his comments he will cave in and sign the budget without the 5 Billion for the wall… We will see. He says he will veto the spending bill unless it has money for the wall. We will see if he has guts or not….

Update 12/25 – Trump stands firm on the wall – Democrats won’t budge – Government partial shutdown and impasse. Since the Democrats will control the house in a week it is clear that the Republicans will cave – we won’t have any border protection and that most in Congress will have violated their oath of office– I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God. As a supporter of 2nd Amendment Rights and a CWC permit holder I will carry my arm and support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America – defend my rights and protect my family – because those that were elected to do so won’t do their jobs. Sad
