The Border Wall Shutdown Impasse

Border Fence

Border Fence

It was quite an interesting evening listen to President Trump give his speech on the support of border security.   It was pretty straight forward and Presidential.   He discussed facts and figures and of course the pundits will rip these apart finding reasons to invalidate each and every one of them.  That is okay however because the fact remains that cannot be disputed is that Americans are being killed by illegal immigrants crossing our borders.   We can argue what percentages of drugs flow through our borders and kill Americans that choose to take them – but the fact remains lives are being lost.

There is clear truth on video that Obama, Schumer and Pelosi all supported physical barriers even though each one of them has walked this back – the truth can’t be hidden.   Clinton said it too.   Physical walls / barriers were supported by the Democrats.

The Democrats want the government re-opened and border security as a separate issue – but we already know that if the Republicans cave into this demand then there will never be a vote for border security.    So where does this put the Americans?   We are entrapped by a government that will do nothing to protect our borders – the Congressional Democratic Majority won’t provide the funding and the Senate will veto any spending bill that does not have border security – and even if it passes the Senate the President has veto power.   There is no possible way that the Senate can muster a 2/3 majority to override a Presidential veto.

So where are we at with all of this?   Nowhere.   This is going to be a standoff that will last for a long time.   I feel bad that Federal employees are stuck in the middle of this –  Schumer said millions were being affected when it is 800,000.  In any case a wrong fact it will be difficult for these families to survive without income – especially when they are being required to work.

Many citizens of this country have armed themselves for protection against our immigration problem.  Many across the country live in states that have “open carry” so then can protect themselves.   People living in California are at risk because open carry is illegal and many counties refuse to grant Concealed Weapons Permits.   For that I feel very fortunate.  I am fortunate I live in a county with less than 200,000 in population here in California, and I am fortunate that I have been granted the privilege to carry a firearm.

Most of the Liberals that live in California see no problem with an open border.  California is already a Sanctuary State because the lawmakers think that it is okay to have illegals running the streets.   Increased crime, murder, robbery, sex crimes, sex trafficking, drugs and more are seeming okay with Californians that are in the perfect position to become a victim.   After all most don’t carry a firearm, hate them and think the police have to protect them.  They are really stupid people, but people who I don’t mind seeing them become a statistic.   I know, that is harsh.

The reality is that the immigration stalemate won’t be solved under this Presidency.   If Trump declares emergency powers it will be blocked by the liberal courts and tied up until he leaves office – so that won’t work.   The congress won’t allocate the money and the American people like you and I won’t be able to do anything.

I will write my representatives which are of course – Democrats who don’t care about conservative voices.  After all in California if you are a conservative you are a minority with no voice in government.   You might as well pee on a Forest Fire because that is about as much good as writing your representative does.   One person represents 800K citizens and a couple of Senators represent 38 million.  Do you think my letter will be read?  Hell no.  It will be answered by a computer generated reply thanking me for my opinion and nicely telling me to (blank) off.

This will be an interesting situation.   I will sit back and watch – but I am already prepared to fight in the streets.  An illegal or criminal won’t get the upper hand on me.   I am an armed citizen that will protect my life and the life of my family regardless of what our liberal government does.

Here is the response to a letter I sent to Congressman Tom McClintock – Republican – California on Border Security.

Thank you for writing regarding border security and illegal immigration.

America is a nation of immigrants. We are all either immigrants ourselves or we are the sons and daughters of immigrants. The Great Seal of the United States features the phrase “E Pluribus Unum,” meaning “from many, one.” From many nations we have created one great nation, the American nation.

Illegal immigration undermines the process of legal immigration that makes our nation of immigrants possible. If we continue allowing illegal immigration, then legal immigration becomes pointless; the process of assimilation that our immigration laws assure breaks down, and the bonds of allegiance that hold a country like ours together begin to dissolve.

Furthermore, our undefended and open borders create opportunities for our enemies to enter the United States undetected, presenting a major national security threat.

For these reasons, I will continue supporting legal immigration at assimilable levels along with efforts to secure our borders.

Again, thank you for contacting me. Please visit my website at to reach me regarding any issue that concerns you or your family.
