The Failed State of Affairs in Washington DC
It is October and as I read the news it is becoming very clear that the failed state of affairs in Washington DC are impacting me.
As I go to work each day I wonder what will be reported on the news and what will I do now. ‘
The borders of our country are completely insecure. We have a president and his administration that took an oath of office to defend and protect our country but that means nothing to him or his followers. Concerned Americans talk about the COVID-19 and variants that are running wild across the border. I have other concerns though. I am concerned about how many of our enemies are crossing freely into the country preparing to attack and kill us in malls, shopping centers and parks. I just spent another weekend taking a required class in California to secure my second amendment right to carry, and I do carry a concealed weapon. It isn’t because I am some nutcase, it is because I am concerned for the safety of myself, family and others around me. It is sad that I have to carry. It wasn’t really a thought until 5 years ago when I saw our country becoming unsafe. Lately with the cries of defunding the police and the mass staffing shortages it was clear to me I am on my own.
It isn’t only the borders that are a concern to me as an American. Our recent exit from Afghanistan showed me how poorly our country is being run. 13 of my brothers and sisters were murdered by a suicide bomber. Billions of dollars of American firepower has been left in the hands of the Taliban. Many Americans have been unable to flee the regime. In addition those Afghanistan citizens that chose to help us are now targets of the Taliban. It is so sad to see this, yet at 64 years of age I have no ability to help them. Our leadership – President Biden and his Democratic party has yet failed us again.
As the Democrats took power from the Republicans I surely felt the difference. As a American I figured a change in the party would just push us more towards Socialism. I remember socialism well as I grew up in the era of Socialism. I know what it means to have the Government rule your everyday lives. I also know how poor Socialist countries are because they destroy the wealth until there is none. We are no doubt headed down the wrong path. These are just a few bullet points.
- Gasoline prices have increased dramatically in California. California leads the United States in the highest fuel prices at around $4.50 a gallon. Expect higher prices with the 19 cent a gallon tax increase hidden in the infrastructure bill if it passes.
- Inflation is the highest it has been in 13 years, over 5% as a country and more than double that in California.
- Racism is the cry from the liberals who have been sold the lie that all white people are racist and privileged. This is not the truth. I am white and I have always respected my brothers and sisters in the world no matter what race they are.
- History is to be destroyed. We can’t tell the ugly truth of our past because it is racist.
- Slavery was a sin. Nobody disagrees, but reparations are not justified.
- Government handouts are at an all time high from both the state and federal governments. These handouts are so large that coupled with unemployment people make more sitting at home than working.
- Our ports are clogged. Ships can’t dock with supplies and there isn’t enough workers to unload them. This has crippled our supply chain.
- Food has become very expensive. With the water shortages in the West there has been some drastic increases in prices. Will California be able to feed America?
As you can see with just a few points the direction we are headed in. The government wants to spend 5 trillion of your tax dollars on Infrastructure. Inside the bills are hidden pet projects that have nothing to do with Infrastructure. No wonder why there is a battle in Washington DC to pass it. It is irresponsible to spend money on pet projects. It is being sold as it “costs nothing.” Nobody can be that stupid. Everything has a cost. The game on words was to get American taxpayers to swallow it.
Inside the bill is huge tax increases for business who by the way provide jobs. The bill says we will tax the rich making over 400K a year. Who can be that stupid? When you raise taxes on business we all pay because business just raises prices. You can already see that with the highest inflation in 13 years and nothing has been passed yet. How about the death tax at 36%. How about government snooping into your checking and savings accounts when deposits are over $600? How about the study to perhaps add an 8 cent fee on every mile you drive? There is page after page of money grabs. This is true socialism.
People would think that I am an angry American. I am disappointed with our government. It isn’t “for the people, by the people” anymore. I am concerned that we have an out of control spending deficit. I am concerned that we are headed towards socialism. I am concerned about cash handouts. There is plenty to be concerned with.
I am concerned with the Government overreach on the mandates on masks and COVID-19 vaccines. I have taken my vaccine because I chose to do so, not because I was required by the government. It appears that they are not working. People have the right to choose what to put into their bodies. A government requirement is a violation of our citizens constitutional rights. It is sad because many are losing their jobs because they won’t conform. This isn’t the America I remember at all. The attack on the second and forth amendment rights are unprecedented.
It is time for Americans to awaken from their slumber. President Biden should be held accountable along with Vice President Harris. Speaker Nancy Pelosi as well. These are the leaders of our country. These are the ones that are gutting our democracy for their personal gain and movement towards socialism. I pray to God that our elected house and senate will put a stop to this gutting of our wealth. I pray the courts uphold the constitution and put a stop to this willful disregard of America.
I am not one that is a doomsday predictor. I am not overreacting either. We are definitely heading into rough waters and I haven’t even addressed our military weakness yet. That I will save for another blog.
In the mean time do you think I am on track or have I lost my mind? Send me a comment and tell me why I am right or why I am wrong.
The failed state of affairs continue. Infrastructure bill held up due to pork and fat, 500 plus Americans still hiding in Afghanistan, Democrat in-fighting because the radicals can’t make a few conservatives cave to their socialist demands; It is just a mess. Don’t expect anything to change.
