Nimaway has been our cherished website name. While numerous historical references to Nimaway can be found online, our site tells a different story. Nimaway was the beloved name of our faithful border collie, whose untimely passing inspired us to adopt it as our email domain. Over time, Nimaway has grown beyond a mere domain name into something more meaningful. We have owned the domain for 17 years.

About Me:
Greetings, I am Mike, the host of Nimaway. For privacy reasons, I refrain from sharing my last name, prioritizing the protection of my family’s privacy.
My journey began at age 12, where I embarked on odd jobs and landscaping ventures to save for my first car. During my high school years, I dedicated myself to full-time work at a restaurant until enlisting in the United States Air Force at 18.
There, I specialized as a Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems technician, servicing C5A, C141, and KC135 Aircrafts at Travis AFB, California.
Following my military service, I transitioned to a career in several major Auto Parts chains, where I’ve held various roles spanning over 47 years. Alongside my professional endeavors, I pursued higher education and earned a BS Degree in Business.
My career has taken me across the United States, overseeing significant automotive projects, from store remodels to new setups, as well as serving in managerial and project management roles. Even in retirement, I continue to dedicate a few days a week to assisting those in need, providing labor and support. The lack of appreciation is evident as you get older and my contributions seem to be less and less important to the younger generation. At age 68, nobody takes my skills, knowledge and ability seriously anymore. They just see me as an old man.
My Hobbies:
Beyond my professional life, I find fulfillment in family. Married with two grown daughters and three granddaughters and one grandson. I cherish moments spent with them as they navigate their own paths.
Devoted to public service, I volunteer for three non-profit organizations within my county, alongside contributing to the State of California Office of Emergency Services.
In my spare time, I indulge in various pursuits, from website development to automotive repairs, household maintenance, and computer troubleshooting. They say busy hands are happy hands, and I couldn’t agree more. I have learned to fix about everything by myself, from pellet stoves, HVAC systems, electrical repair, deck building, landscaping, automotive and truck repair and more.
I invite you to explore our blog, and hopefully the information presented will help you. You can comment if you want but most people don’t. After all, my opinions don’t matter and since I am not giving out my personal information people and bots don’t find me attractive. Comments to my blogs are suspended after 30 days to keep relevance. My blogs are deleted when I review the clicks and determine that they are not relevant.
Happy blogging and I thank you for the visit. I know social media is much more fun for those that like to misbehave but we don’t allow that here.
As my life comes to a close, this blog will be up to my family to maintain or disband it. After all, since I am not famous, a Hollywood Star, a comedian, a sports figure or politician my contributions to this world would be considered insignificant.
