A Breath of Fresh Air
It’s been a few weeks since the election, and guess what? Republicans now control the White House, Senate, Congress, and even the Courts. America is finally starting to heal. You can see it everywhere. Americans are feeling less stressed out since the election is over, except for the hardcore Democrats and the leftist media, who are totally freaking out.
Look at the strong Cabinet picks that President Elect Trump has made. He’s already having meetings with Canada, and Mexico, on border policies. He’s also talking to Ukraine and the Middle East hoping to stop the wars and working on our national debt.
Trump has done more since he won the election than the Biden Harris administration has done in four whole years and he isn’t president yet. The liberal media is totally exhausted from following him, and major networks are having layoffs, salary cuts, and even being sold.
Democrat donors are furious because they were lied to. The media spun lies about Harris being ahead in the election polls, and they told those donors they were going to win. 1.5 billion dollars were spent with the Harris campaign, and they were asking for more when insiders in the Harris campaign already knew that the polls were wrong, and she was losing big time. It didn’t matter and they still lied. Now the donors are very angry. It will be hard to see them spending big money in 2026 or 2028.
So, it seems like Americans are splurging on Christmas gifts, but guess what? The news is still full of praise for these sales. They’re all like, ‘Retailers are raking it in!’ But let’s be real, folks. Comp sales growth is all about top-line sales, and with inflation soaring, those comps should at least be keeping pace with the prices. Top-line sales don’t mean squat. It’s all about revenue. And I have a feeling that when the holiday season ends, the net income will be down across the board. Don’t forget those folks who are struggling to make ends meet, maxed out on credit cards. And let’s not forget those people living in tents in North Carolina. Christmas and Thanksgiving aren’t exactly merry and bright for most of America. Even the traditional turkey dinner cost went up by over 11% this year vs. last year. So, I wouldn’t start celebrating just yet.
I work in the auto parts business, and let me tell you, it’s a great barometer of how the economy is doing. When people skip routine car maintenance, we know about it. Sales are down, and that’s a clear sign. People are cutting back on maintenance to save money for gifts and food. But here’s the catch: eventually, all that maintenance comes due, and most of the jobs become way more expensive. That is when the industry will turn. I’ve seen layoffs in the business, and Advance Auto Parts is closing hundreds of stores. AutoZone and O’Reilly’s aren’t saying much, but I’ve been in this industry for 46 years, and I can tell you that payroll has been slashed to the bone. Routine maintenance like floors and landscaping have been cut, and full-time employees are working way less than 40 hours a week. There’s no overtime allowed, and delivery times for shops have been slowed because there aren’t enough drivers. This is the reality that the news networks hide, and the automotive industry isn’t the only one feeling the pinch. I’ve also got insight into pet stores, and they’re struggling too. They’re reorganizing and slashing labor costs, which means fewer jobs and less customer service. People aren’t taking their dogs in for grooming or buying training classes because they don’t have the money to put food on the table so their beloved pet does not get pampered. They wash their dogs at home and do their best to keep their pet expenses low. And guess what? There aren’t any record sales happening in this business either. Home improvement is suffering too, because people don’t have the cash to do fix-up projects. I have family members working in these three industries, so I have a pretty good pulse on what’s going on in our country.
The good news is that things will start to look up in January. We’re already seeing some relief as America takes a breather. The liberal agenda is coming to an end, the border will be secured, the national debt will finally be on the table, and industry will start to thrive once the constraints on energy production are lifted. The DEI and Woke policies are going away. Businesses can expect their tax rates to stay the same. Seniors are hoping for the removal of taxes on Social Security. The food industry is thrilled about no tax on tips, and everyone is excited about no tax on overtime. Unfortunately, this will only happen at the federal level, but it’ll still be a significant tax break. Tariffs will help offset some of these costs, and when business starts to pick up, so will the tax revenue. States like California, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Illinois, which are run by liberal Democrats, will continue to struggle. Their socialist leadership will continue to punish everyone who lives there. I don’t see much relief in taxes, higher debts and more money going to social programs. I also see billions of dollars in hand-outs to offset the Federal cuts to their programs like EV subsidies.
It’s a sigh of relief and a breath of fresh air to think about the changes that are coming to America. The Republicans have a 6 months to implement their policies and a year to see the results before the 2026 elections. If America is winning, the Democrats will be losing, which will bring another two years of prosperity and maybe even four or eight more after that. We can always hope.
I’m excited about the changes that are coming. I have hope that retired seniors like me can finally quit our jobs (we’re still working hard to make ends meet- can’t retire yet). We would like to enjoy the retirement we’ve been dreaming of which was impossible with the Democrats in charge. I thought retirement was not possible but now I have hope that I can live the final years of my life in America with ease and know that when God takes me home, we’ll have a country that’s safe for my children and grandchildren and other generations to follow.
Yes, I think America is having a big sigh of relief and a breath of fresh air because “Making America Great Again” isn’t just a campaign pledge, it can now be a reality.
