The Media’s Role in Today’s Information Overload

When we look at all this news, it can be overwhelming. The media seems intent on bombarding us with information, some of which is trivial, some unverified, and some backed by video evidence. Claims about the Clinton and Biden families are largely true, while statements about Newsom vary in accuracy. The overarching theme appears to be confusion and rhetoric.

Nostalgia for Reliable News Reporting

Do you remember when the news was trusted to be truthful? In the 1970s, despite the turmoil of riots, the Vietnam War, Nixon’s resignation, and FBI corruption, the news was a reliable source of information. Today, it’s much harder to discern the truth unless there’s video proof.

The Future of Truth in the Age of AI

Artificial Intelligence poses new challenges, with its ability to fake voices, create images, and potentially manipulate videos. The internet, once a gateway to knowledge, now often spreads misinformation, reminiscent of how the nuclear bomb, initially a war-stopping tool, became a global threat.

Finding Truth and Peace in Personal Pursuits

Will we ever find the truth again, especially from our government or the media? It seems we must see and hear things ourselves to believe them. Personally, I now read the news for entertainment and avoid evening broadcasts except for the weather. I find more satisfaction in working on my property in the mountains, away from the chaos of the world. Although I remain cautious about fires and rarely venture out except for essentials, I appreciate the peace and quiet of my surroundings.

In a world that feels increasingly dangerous, focusing on personal projects and the beauty of nature offers a much-needed respite.
