The Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump: A Nation Reflects

There is probably nothing more I can say about the attempt on the former President’s life than what has been said in the media. I am disappointed with the negative content from CBS, CNN, and the New York Times, but that was to be expected since they are liberal mouthpieces. Extreme liberals must get their two cents in, even if it is a tragic event spurred by the constant hateful attacks on Donald Trump (the person) instead of his policies. When Biden said on July 8th to put a bullseye on the former president, it was taken seriously. Words are powerful when spoken by people in high positions, such as the Presidency.

One cannot overlook the catastrophic failure of the Secret Service to secure the area. How could a shooter be on the roof of a building 130 yards away go unnoticed? We will never know the truth, just like when JFK was assassinated. It will be buried in top secret files for all time. One must wonder, though. Our FBI and DOJ are weaponized against Trump, so you have to wonder if the Secret Service is too. That is all theory, though. The facts from the investigation will be buried forever, and as an American, I would hope that the political left has not stooped to using Soviet tactics to eliminate their competition. It wouldn’t be the first time in America where attempts have been made to silence leaders. Abe Lincoln and John F. Kennedy were taken out because people disagreed with them.

The left is complicit in this attack. Biden, in his speeches, has called Trump a danger to democracy and lots of other things that could embolden someone unhinged to act. News shows like “The View” are certainly complicit, as well as hosts on MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, ABC, CBS, AP, PBS; and the list goes on. These people have to sleep with what they have done. God tells me to forgive them, and I will, but I won’t forget what they have done.

People need to take a step back and realize that our country should have grown its way out of violence, not into it. Elections should be about different ideas, and those ideas should be attacked in productive, factual ways. The person should never be attacked. It is clear Biden has mental acuity issues. This is factual, on video, and on tape. People slip up occasionally, but they don’t do it all the time, and they don’t mumble. Trump tells lots of fibs. We know that, but when it comes to the business part of the government, he is on target when he speaks about the border, inflation, and energy production. Both Trump and Biden have faults, like the rest of us. It is up to voters to decide who should run our country, not assassins.

Think about this. If you were just shot, would you say “fight”? What if you didn’t really know what medical situation you were in? You would be in shock, right? So, Trump wants Americans to fight for the country. Liberal news outlets have already taken it out of context and tried to equate the word “fight” to uprising. Trump doesn’t want an uprising. He wants people to fight for our country – protect our freedom, sovereignty, and way of life. He doesn’t want violence, as the left would portray. Honestly, I expect this behavior from children, but not adults. Are there any adults in the room?

I am saddened by the loss of life, a father and former fire chief who shielded his family from bullets. His name hasn’t been released as of this writing. The other two victims are in critical condition at the hospital; they shouldn’t have been hurt. This disgusts me, and we see it all the time in America. Innocents losing their lives to illegal immigrants, police officers being gunned down, people being gunned down during carjackings and home invasions, and the thousands that are dying from drug overdoses. The left continues to ignore these travesties.

This election is critical. The left suddenly is removing political ads attacking Donald Trump. Do they now realize they are complicit in their actions? Political competitions should always be about the issues and not the person. America is severely divided, and politicians on the left and the media are somewhat responsible for this act of violence. They didn’t pull the trigger; they were not the shooter, but their attacks on President Trump (the person) and not his policies contributed to this sad event. Hopefully, lessons can be learned from this, but it won’t bring back a father, a hero for saving his family. How many more lives must be sacrificed before some sort of sanity returns to our country?

We have four more months until the Presidential election. Will the events of July 13 change the trajectory of our country, or will it be more of the same a week from now? I wish for peace in our country. I wish for common-sense legislation, and I hope and dream America can once again become a beacon of hope for the world. Time will tell.
